Celebration of Dr. Stanley Fowler
College - Oct 31, 2016
On Thursday evening, October 13, we had the wonderful privilege of honouring one of our long-time faithful faculty members, Dr. Stanley K. Fowler. Stan has been serving Heritage for many years, dating back to the early years at Central Baptist Seminary. He has served as our theology professor, along with stints as President and Dean, since that time. Stan’s family showed a powerpoint presentation of his life, and Michael Haykin, long-time colleague (via video), Marvin Brubacher, former president, and Mike Anderson, former student, gave tributes to him. Dr. Reed, our president, presented him with a framed Willie Mays and Stan Musial baseball card. Stan was named after Stan Musial, his father’s favourite baseball player. Willie Mays is Dr. Reed’s favourite baseball player. The evening was highlighted with the presentation of a Festshcrift entitled Ecclesia Semper Reformanda Est/The Church is Always Reforming: A Festschrift on Ecclesiology in Honour of Stanley K. Fowler. The book contains about fifteen articles contributed by various colleagues of Stan’s over the years. It was a special pleasure to see him “gobsmacked” in that he had no idea the book was coming (it’s been in the works for over two years), and to honour him in this very special and appropriate way. His response when he realized what it was, “This is a festschrift! These are only for important people,” was the perfect response. In Stan’s spirit of humility and grace, he would never see himself as important, but his students, colleagues, and all who have ministered with him certainly do. Stan continues to teach at Heritage, and we wish him all the best in the years to come. To God be the glory for the life and ministry of Dr. Stanley K. Fowler.

Paul Henderson at Heritage!
College - Feb 24, 2015
Paul Henderson is best known for leading Team Canada to victory against the Soviet Union during the Summit Series in 1972. Henderson scored the game winning goal in the sixth, seventh and eighth game, the last of which was voted the "sports moment of the century" by The Canadian Press. He is a well known sports icon, and has received many accolades for his success.
However, more than a hockey hero, Henderson is a follower of Christ. He has used his post-hockey years to speak, preach and write to the glory of God.
Come to the Heritage chapel on March 3 to hear from Mr. Paul Henderson.
Donor Helps Heritage Students Kick-Start 2015
College - Jan 13, 2015
Heritage as an institution is both blessed and thankful, to be able to offer a full sized gymnasium and fully furnished workout room free for its students. However, as with any fitness facility, equipment and set-up can quickly become outdated and run-down; and, it can be quite a challenge to keep up with maintenance and much needed upgrades.
So this New Year, Heritage is very pleased and excited to announce some new updates to our fitness facility. With great thanks to a very generous donor, we were able to paint, clean, and upgrade our group workout space. Below you can see some pictures which highlight the changes.
Heritage is passionate about the spiritual wellbeing of our students. We desire to train and equip men and women for life and ministry. Included in this goal is the desire to enable men and women to reap the benefits of healthy living.
We hope and pray that we can continue to support and encourage our students in this way, and that these new changes will be a catalyst to start 2015.

Christmas on the Hill
College - Nov 28, 2014
"Heritage is not a city on a hill, but we are a campus on a hill. Our elevation allows folks to see us as they drive by on the 401 or cross the overpass on Hwy 24. Being on a hill helps people know where we are. But it doesn’t mean they know who we are or what we are all about..."

From the Desk of the President
Heritage - Oct 21, 2014
Billy Crocket tells the story of a janitor in his local church. Whenever anyone asked him, "How are you doing?" he'd answer by saying, "Grateful." That answer is not only succinct, it's also scriptural: "give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). As I reflect on the start of this school year at Heritage, I have a deep sense of gratitude to God for His good hand upon us. Let me highlight five specific reasons for thanksgiving.
Spiritual vitality on campus. I've seen evidence of this vitality at our all-school retreat, in chapel services, classroom discussions and hallway conversations.
Strong enrollment for courses. Credit hours for the college are about the same as last year; credit hours for the seminary are up over last year (which was up 40% from the previous year).
Growing partnership with churches. Our number of partner churches continues to grow as local churches see the value of working together.
Preaching Lectures with Bryan Chapell. Close to 300 people attended this year's installment of the Heritage Preaching Lectures. Byran Chapell not only instructed us, he fed our souls.
Friends who pray and give. Through the generous giving of many individuals and churches, we finished another year in the black and have made some significant steps in debt reduction. Thank you for continuing to invest in God's work at Heritage.
So if you would ask me how I'm doing, I would tell you that I'm grateful.

Thank you for celebrating Dr. Barker’s 35 years
Heritage - Jul 18, 2014
Our Celebrate Heritage BBQ was a very special day on-campus! We had the honour of celebrating our Alumni & friends by acknowledging those who are: innovators in developing creative ministries, faithful servants in ministry, and those engaged in the marketplace spreading the Gospel. We also celebrated and honoured Dr. David Barker’s 35 years with Heritage! Thank you our guests (almost 200 people!) who joined us to celebrate with these individuals.
Thank you, as well, to all those who made a contribution to the special gift for David & Lorraine! We were able to present Dr. Barker with a few plaques that describe the influence he has had, as well as treat the Barker's to some dinner cruises. They were so touched by your contributions and especially the presence of so many who have had significant impacts on their lives and ministries.
Details on the alumni award winners can be found here.
